This adventure takes you from Sembalun village up to the Sembalun Crater Rim, on to the majestic Rinjani summit (3,726m), down to the sacred Lake Segara Anak, and finally descends through the lush rainforest to Senaru village.
This route is perfect for experienced hikers or those in good physical condition, as it involves an average of 8 hours of trekking per day, with challenging ascents and descents.

6:00 AM: Wake up, breakfast.
Morning: Drive to Sembalun Village, register at the Rinjani Information Center.
8:00 AM: Begin trekking from Sembalun through open meadows.
2-hour trek to Pos 1 (1,300m).
40-minute trek to Pos 2 (1,500m).
Continue to Pos 3 (1,800m) for lunch and rest.
Afternoon: Ascend to Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m) – 3-hour trek.
Evening: Camp overnight at the crater rim, enjoy breathtaking sunset views.

2:00 AM: Wake up, hot drink, light breakfast.
3:00 AM: Start trekking to Mount Rinjani’s summit (3,726m).
Moderate climb, followed by a steep volcanic scree section.
6:00 AM: Reach the summit for sunrise views over Lombok, Bali, Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake.
Descend to Sembalun Crater Rim (2 hours), enjoy breakfast.
Trek down to Segara Anak Lake (3 hours) – swim in the hot springs (known for healing properties).
Lunch by the lake, then ascend to Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m).
Evening: Camp at Senaru Crater Rim, witness stunning sunset over Mount Agung (Bali).
